Lois Wondra Basler went peacefully to heaven on Wednesday, May 24, 2017. She was 71. She was born on August 30, 1945 and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska.

In 1963, she met her future husband, Alva (Al), at Tarkio College, Tarkio, Missouri. They were married on September 3, 1965 and enjoyed 51+ years of God’s blessings.

After getting married, Al completed his studies at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln and in 1968 they moved to Ponca City, Oklahoma and Al worked for Conoco and they both were very active in the Jaycees.

In 1973 they adopted their daughter, Angel Renne. 1974 found them in Alaska with Al working for BP Alaska on the Trans Alaska Pipeline. Lois was very involved with Renne and her schooling, but also the Alaska lifestyle. Al and Lois left Alaska in 2006 and moved to Sun City. Her health became a problem but she was still as active as possible. Together they visited over 30 countries, 5 continents and 45 of the 50 states.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Leon Martin Wondra and Margaret Anderson Wondra. She is survived by her husband of 51 years Al, daughter Angel Renne (Bradley) Lillard. Grandchildren Kayla, Kameron and Krista and her sister, Susan W. Basler.

The family wants to thank the entire staff at The Wesleyan at Scenic for their professional and compassionate care that they provided for Lois and her family. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 2 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 4010 Williams Drive, Georgetown, Texas.
